Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center works with Gold Country Wildlife Rescue as a safe haven for wildlife. When Good Samaritans can’t take wildlife directly to a rescue group, or they are closed, we are here to help.
At Atlantic Street we will intake juvenile, sick and injured wildlife. Our team will provide basic medical care to ensure they are not suffering, stabilize them (if possible), and maintain body temperature appropriately until a member from Gold Country Wildlife Rescue can transport them to their facility in Auburn, CA.
We encourage you to call Gold Country prior to handling wildlife. Often wildlife does not need to be rescued, and is removed from its habitat unnecessarily.

Once you are at our facility we will ask you to fill out a form for Gold Country about where the animal was found. When rehabilitated, this helps them release the animal to the same area. We will also gather basic contact information so that they can reach out to you if they have any questions.
Please note that Gold Country Wildlife Rescue will generally pick up animals from us within a few hours which hinders our ability to give you an update on their status. Our goal is to get them to the proper rehabilitator as quickly as possible for proper medical care and husbandry.
