About
Dr. Harmeet Aulakh is a board certified veterinary internal medicine specialist. She obtained her veterinary degree from Punjab Agricultural University, India. She obtained her Masters in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology from the same institute in India before moving to the United States. Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. She worked as an associate DVM in private practice for about four years before following her dream to be a small animal internist. She accepted a position for a small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois and competed her program at Louisiana State University. She became a Diplomate of American College of Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2018.
Following her residency, she stayed on staff as an assistant professor at Louisiana State University in the small animal internal medicine service and taught DVM students and trained rotating interns and residents for seven years, before joining Ethos.
Dr. Aulakh has been a recipient of the national award in essay writing competitions during her high school career. She was a merit scholarship holder during both her bachelor’s and master’s veterinary degrees. While she was a teacher, educator, and researcher at LSU, she received several teaching excellence awards:

Dr. Aulakh is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, American Veterinary Medical Association, Phi Zeta Veterinary Scholastic Honor Society, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, Baton Rouge Area Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Veterinary Clinicians, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and Indian Society for Veterinary Immunology & Biotechnology (ISVIB).
Her clinical interests include, uronephrology, endocrinology and metabolic diseases, immune mediated diseases, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and minimally invasive procedures.

Outside of the Clinic
Dr. Aulakh is married to Dr. Karanvir Aulakh, who is a small animal surgeon, at Ethos Veterinary Heath. In addition to enjoying practicing veterinary medicine together, both doctors enjoy vacationing, spending time with their family, and entertaining family and friends. Dr. Aulakh shares a passion for educating, lifelong learning, and strives to provide the best possible care for each and every patient. She values the long-term relationships with her internal medicine patients and clients.
